Kenya Nyeri Karogoto Peaberry

Kenya Nyeri Karogoto Peaberry

Karogoto is part of the Tekangu Farmers Cooperative Society which is a combination of three factories: Tegu, Karogoto, and Ngunguru. This is a Nyeri region coffee, which equates to some of the best regions in Kenya. This lot is hand separated by size and this is the peaberry separation; normally coffee beans grow two to a fruit, flat against each other like halves of a peanut.  But a funny thing happens in about 5% of the world's coffee, they are born with out a 'partner', which requires farmers to 'hand-pick' the peaberry beans.  Many believe that peaberry coffee tastes intensified.

Karogoto Peaberry has a winey dark grape flavor, that moves into berry fruit jam notes, and bittersweet mix of dark chocolate and cinnamon. Karagoto's big body makes for a mouthpleasing brew, and will double well as an espresso.
