Peru Jaén Granjeros de Huabal

Peru Jaén Granjeros de Huabal

Made up from coffees of several different farmers in Huabal District of Jaén Province, this 43 bag regional blend represents the coffees of many of the small holders in this region. Altitude averages around 1750 meters with roads leading to Huabal, and within the district, very rustic when compared to their neighbors, limiting access to farmers in this region.

A crowd pleasing coffee with a balance of sweet, unrefined sugars and mild cocoa tones. The ground coffee has scent of hazelnut chocolate and brown sugar. The flavor profile is simple and clean with semi-sweet chocolate chip, almond paste, and hazelnut/chocolate spread (Nutella comes to mind).

This coffee is part of the 'Farm Gate' program from our friends at The Coffee Shrub, which means they have negotiated directly with the farmer, and guarantee prices that are at least 50%, and often more than 100%, over fair trade.
