THE FARM: Guama Danta is sourced from Comayagua, the most productive and diverse of Honduras' 15 coffee-producing regions. Here, one can find farms in almost every possible micro climate, making for nuanced, complex cups. The smallholders who came together to produce this lot go beyond stellar agricultural practices and keen business sense – they are true community leaders who look out for their fellow producers every step of the way - from farm to market.

Alfonso Ramos, is a Guama Danta producer. He has been cultivating coffee since the 1960s. Today, he travels from farm to farm in the Comayagua region, helping farmers in remote areas move their coffee and negotiate fair prices for them. It’s through dedication and hard work from people like Alfonso that a community lot like Guama Danta can exist.

OUR ROAST: The aroma shows caramelized sugar sweetness, with a note of coffee cake, and candied walnut. The cup profile expands to include discernible flavors amidst the core bitter-sweetness, black strap molasses, some date sugar, black tea and a green herbal aromatic note in the aftertaste. Chocolate roast flavors are apparent and the cup has a nicely fruited acidic impression that helps pull out a dark berry accent note as the coffee cools off a bit.
